Films in Peel is back with a new programme starting on 9th January. After another successful year and over 6,000 tickets sold since its first screening in 2008, Films in Peel starts its fifth year with a British independent movie, In Love with Alma Cogan (Cert 12A).
Set on and around Cromer Pier in North Norfolk, this gentle, romantic comedy tells the story of the manager of a small town theatre under threat of closing down. The manager, Norman, is haunted by the ghost of fifties and sixties singing star Alma Cogan. Screening on 9th January, the film starts at 7.45pm.
Other films included in the January-March programme are thrilling documentary The Imposter (Cert 15) on 23rd January, Anna Karenina (Cert 12A) on 13th February starring Keira Knightley and scripted by Tom Stoppard, and new thriller Shadow Dancer (Cert 18), on 27th February, which is set in 1990s Belfast. The two films to be screened in March are award winning fantasy film Beasts of the Southern Wild (Cert 12A) and the hugely successful and popular 2012 James Bond film Skyfall (Cert 12A).
All films start at 7.45pm and doors open at 7.00pm. Tickets cost ?5 and are available in advance from Celtic Gold in Peel or on the door on the night (unless sold out). Reservation tickets with seat guarantee are available at HMV in Douglas, Shakti Man in Ramsey and Thompson Travel in Port Erin (payment is on the door).
