Green Route for Christmas Trees Disposal

by isleofman.com 31st December 2012

Ramsey Town Commissioners are accepting real Christmas trees for shredding again this year.

In 2002 Ramsey became the first local authority to recycle natural Christmas trees, with the resulting mulch being used at the Mooragh Park and at Poyll Dooey, and the initiative has been run every year since then. The scheme provides a convenient green route for the disposal of real Christmas Trees and reduces the amount of waste sent for incineration.

The Christmas tree shredding service, which is provided free of charge, is available
from Friday 4th to Saturday 12th January [Mon-Thurs 8am – 4pm, Friday 8am – 3pm, Sat 8am – 12 noon], at the Commissioners nursery site at the junction of Park Road and North Shore Road.
