First Manx Chief Constable for Island

The first Manx Chief Constable will be sworn in this afternoon (Friday) in a ceremony at the Courts of Justice.

Gary Roberts will take over from Mike Langdon who stepped down from the role after five years leading the Isle of Man Constabulary.

Inspector Derek Flint, the force's Media Relations officer, says there are difficult economic times ahead for the Island's police.

Mr Flint outlines what Chief Constable Roberts is likely to be focusing on during his tenure:
