Bird hits plane

by isleofman.com 4th January 2013

An Easyjet flight was forced to return to Ronaldsway Airport after it was hit by a bird this week.

The Airbus A319-100 was bound for Liverpool on Wednesday at around 5pm, when the bird hit at around 4,000 feet.

The plane’s crew reported engine vibrations and landed again 15 minutes after they’d taken off with 148 passengers on board.

A replacement aircraft was laid on for passengers, who were delayed by around five hours.

The aircraft that had been hit went to London Gatwick airport the next morning, and resumed normal service after checks.
