Armed Forces Covenant moves closer

by isleofman.com 7th January 2013

An Armed Forces Community Covenant has moved a step closer to being introduced in the Isle of Man, after a public consultation on the matter.

The response was overwhelmingly in favour of introducing one and the Council of Ministers has subsequently given its backing.

It is an official declaration, on behalf of the Isle of Man and its Government, recognising the contributions of Island residents who serve, or have served, in Britain's armed forces.

Endorsement of the covenant’s principles will be sought at the January sitting of Tynwald next week.
