Douglas prepares for budget day

The Executive Committee of Douglas Borough Council meets this Friday to discuss rates for the capital for the coming financial year.

Local authorities around the Isle of Man are under even greater pressure in 2013/14, as they face a 64% cut in their waste disposal subsidy from the government.

Douglas Council Leader David Christian says Friday's meeting will be the culmination of months of work:
