Passengers given more time to consider new bus timetable

by isleofman.com 8th January 2013

Changes to the Island's bus services which were flagged-up before the New Year, have been delayed after claims the travelling public has not had enough time to consider them.

A new timetable was due to come into force on 7 January, but the Road Transport Licensing Committee disagreed with Bus Vannin about the level of advance consultation.

The RTLC said none had taken place 'in earnest', no detailed information had been made available at the Welcome Centre or on the Bus Vannin website and with a bus strike coming, it was only fair to delay the start date of the changes.

The public now has another fortnight to consider how the alterations will affect their travel plans.

The leisure department is to confirm the start date of its new timetable, approved by the RTLC, not before January 21.
