Post chief hopes staff can be redeployed

The chairman of Isle of Man Post says he hopes as many staff as possible can be redeployed rather than made redundant.

Yesterday, Geoff Corkish MHK confirmed to Manx Radio 15 workers with Integrated Mailing Solutions would lose their jobs after a major client hit trading difficulties.

Vivat Direct, or Reader’s Digest, ceased some trading operations at the end of last week and is one of IMS’s largest clients.

Mr Corkish says although some compulsory redundancies are inevitable, many staff will be found other posts:
