At the end of December unemployment stood at 1020, an unemployment rate of 2.3%.

During the month 162 signed on and 156 signed off, giving a rise of 6 in the total registered unemployed. Of the total unemployed 741 are males and 279 are females.

A total of 220 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month and at the end of the month 113 positions were still vacant and held on file.
