Claims that arbitration is only way forward in bus dispute

A union leader says with more bus strikes in the pipeline, arbitration is now the only way to solve the bus dispute.

Bobby Morton of Unite was speaking after announcing a further half-day strike on Thursday next week.

It’s the second stoppage in a row over pay and conditions, which the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure wants to scrap in a bid to save ?300,000 a year.

Mr Morton says there’s now no realistic hope of the two sides reaching agreement themselves:
