Members of the Isle of Man Branch of the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club (TOMCC) have been busy raising money for the Manx Wildlife Trust, the Island’s leading nature conservation charity. Established in 2007, this is the fourth year that the club has selected a local charity to raise funds for.
The fundraising activities started last May with the club’s annual charity ride-out which set off from Peel breakwater and attracted both club members and other motorcycle enthusiasts from around the Island. The TOMCC also collected donations for the Trust during TT Week and the Manx Grand Prix. The club’s fundraising efforts were given a further boost when Bryn and Annmaria Jones, TOMCC’s Treasurer and Secretary, invited guests at their wedding vow renewal ceremony in December to give donations to the Manx Wildlife Trust in lieu of presents.
A cheque for the total funds raised, which amounted to ?165, was presented to Anne Marie Kilgallon, the Manx Wildlife Trust’s Fundraising and Wildlife Advocacy Officer by Geof Staples, Chairman of the Isle of Man Branch of the TOMCC, during the club’s recent AGM. Commenting on the presentation, Geof said, “Our members appreciate the valuable work carried out by the Manx Wildlife Trust and their aim of protecting Manx wildlife for future generations and we have been very pleased to give them our support.”
On behalf of the Manx Wildlife Trust, Anne Marie Kilgallon expressed her gratitude to the TOMCC members for their very welcome fundraising efforts.
