Message on downsizing government hit target says Scope author

The author of a report calling on the Manx government to drastically downsize itself says he's cautiously optimistic the message has 'hit home'.

Last week the Council of Ministers issued its response to Robert Quayle's Scope report, agreeing that in future government should be much smaller and provide many fewer direct public services funded by the taxpayer.

CoMin's response to the Scope report setting-out eight guiding principles, follows an extensive public consultation.

It will be presented to Tynwald this week.
