Special Olympics Isle of Man has a new Chairman following the retirement of stalwart Mo Sherring.
George Campbell was elected to the role at the charities AGM last month and formally took over following a handover ceremony at Douglas Town Hall. Retiring Chairman Mo was presented with a Douglas Corporation plaque and pin badge in recognition of over 20 years service to the charity.
Commenting on his appointment as new Chairman, George said “I am delighted to come on board as Chairman at a point where we have many games to be represented at. As we look ahead to 2015 I am hopeful that we can fundraise sufficient funds to send a team to the world games in Los Angeles which would be a fantastic part of our 30th anniversary year. I would like to thank Mo for her hard work over years and look forward to working with the charity to ensure the Isle of Man is represented at as many Special Olympics events as possible”
