Three major government documents will be up for debate when Tynwald court sits today.

Chief Minister Allan Bell will present the Council of Ministers’ scope of government report, before setting out his administration’s priorities in a report entitled “Agenda for Change”.

And Treasury Minister Eddie Teare will set out his plans for taxes in a strategy document covering the next four years.

There’s also a special sitting of the House of Keys today as new laws to make an acting attorney general a member of Tynwald are debated before the court assembles.

This month’s sitting, the first of 2013, will see the government trying to raise money with proposed price hikes for dog licenses and driving tests.

And in a move that’s sure to spark debate, the Education Minister Tim Crookall will move his proposals to have students pay part of their tuition fees for higher education.

And that’s the topic of a petition to be put before the court by students Ben Ingham and Sam Turton – Onchan MHK Peter Karran will present it at the end of the order paper.
