As Hospice celebrates 30 years of care on the Isle of Man it is asking the Manx public to continue to support this much loved and needed charity to continue its work by getting involved in some of their ‘challenge’ events.
It all kicks off with ice walking and fire walking on Saturday 13th April. This spectacular event will be held around Douglas and will definitely be a sight to behold.
Other events include a 10k run in Dublin. This event also in April will be chance of a weekend break with a little run just so the participants enjoy a weekend in the fair city but feel like they have achieved something.
There are also two cycling events, the parish walk, which Hospice has entered 2 staff teams who not only walk the walk but raise funds for where they work! There is a swim in Manchester, a TT Triathlon, a jump from an airplane, the Great North Run and for those that still have the energy a bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
This is all in a good cause to not only celebrate 30 years of care but to help Hospice to continue to help others. Mary Doyle, PR and Marketing Manager for Hospice added: “We have tried to facilitate some challenge events on island, continue to have ‘fun’ in fundraising and raise lots of money for an invaluable service to the people of the Isle of Man at a critical time in their lives.” “As usual we have also organised some lovely nice events which starts with our slumber party on Sunday 27th January. She joked: “perhaps this could be the slumber before the campaign of challenges for 2013?”
