DoI prepares for snowfall

by isleofman.com 17th January 2013

The Department of Infrastructure's gritters have been out on the Mountain Road and the minor routes which run off it this morning.

But the real work lies ahead, as snow is forecast to start falling on higher ground overnight, then low-lying areas as Friday progresses.

The DoI's Alan Hardinge:

The Department of Infrastructure, emergency services, Met Office and the Department of Education are meeting at 2pm to discuss how to deal with the weather.

Education plans to make an announcement about the Island's schools at or around 4pm.
