Department of Infrastructure issue update on Lezayre Road reconstruction

by isleofman.com 18th January 2013

The work entails full reconstruction of the road and footways from Parliament St to Bircham Ave.  Improvements to various utility apparatus are also being made.

Work is proceeding well and we expect to complete by mid- May.

The traffic signals at Parliament St/Lezayre Rd continue to operate although the timings have been set to the maximum settings to give priority to the main route.   The Department has kept the signals operational as they still provide for a safe right turn into Parliament St and they also incorporate two sets of signal controlled pedestrian crossings which continue to be well used.

The Department would like to thank locals and businesses for their patience as these works are undertaken.
