Lloyds Banking Group ‘Mo Bros’ raise ?400 for Movember

by isleofman.com 18th January 2013

Lloyds Banking Group colleagues Adam Denard, Andrew England and Michael Penton spent a month cultivating their facial hair to raise funds for Movember, the men’s health charity that aims to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer by encouraging men to grow and groom a moustache for the 30 days of November.

The cross-site challenge across the Lloyds Banking Group insurance division saw the three men secure sponsorship from colleagues, family and friends to raise ?400 for the campaign. Additionally, their Leeds and Edinburgh colleagues celebrating the moustache, raised further sums of money which will all be matched pound for pound by Lloyds Banking Group.

Scottish Widows in the Isle of Man director Juan Clarke said: ‘Colleagues across the Lloyds Banking Group are unfailingly supportive of their co-workers in their community endeavours. For our part at Scottish Widows IOM we have directed our efforts into helping drive up young people’s literacy standards through initiatives in partnership with the Henry Bloom Noble Library and our “Book Buddies” volunteer reading programme in junior schools.

‘Adam, Andrew and Michael are to be congratulated for completing their “hairy journey” during November and raising funds for this worthy cause that’s helping change the face of men’s health.’
