Bacchas and Vikings win big matches

It’s advantage Bacchas A in the Wi Manx Men’s Premier Division.

The reigning champions defeated arch rivals Valkyrs A 5-2 to open up a two point lead at the summit.

After the sides shared four goals in the opening half, Bacchas pushed on thanks to Andy Whiting, Alex Bell, Johnny Callow, Karl Moore and an own goal.

Neil Jacobs and Gareth Moore had earlier scored for Valkyrs.

A brace from Raj Nandha and a goal apiece from Nat Smith and Matthew Grice fired Ramsey A to a 4-2 success over Vikings B, for whom Alex Cain and Sam Spooner found the net.

Dave Millward, Alex Birch and Steven Crowe were all on target as Vikings A ran out 3-0 winners over Valkyrs B, while Bacchas B were 3-2 victors over Castletown A, thanks to Jamie Cox and Alex Bell (two) before Town pulled back two late goals.

Vikings A showed why they are champions in the Wi-Manx Women’s Premier Division.

But they were pushed hard by Bacchas A.

Sarah Blackman (two), Zoe Carney, Kirsty Cooper and Sarah Breen were the scorers for the league leaders in a 5-3 win.

Sharon Pope, Helen Thomas and Cat Hodgson kept Bacchas in touch until the closing stages.

Andrea Kneen and Imogen Manning were the scorers as Valkyrs A defeated Castletown A 2-0, while Alice Henderson (two) and Mandy Rafael netted as Valkyrs B saw off Castletown B by three goals to nil.

Bacchas B defeated Ramsey A 3-1 in the other top flight match.
