Douglas secure bonus points victory

Douglas continued their promotion push with a 31-12 victory over Liverpool Collegiate.

In a match moved to Ballafletcher because of the weather, they retained second place in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.

The bonus points were secured by half-time as Douglas led 24-0.

Mike Hebden, Steve Counsel, Callum Carine, Darryn Bolton, Ean Mousley and Craig Lee notched their tries with three conversions from Bryn Snellgrove.

Southern Nomads moved within touching distance of retaining the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield.

They triumphed 48-5 at Castletown, courtesy of tries from Steve McHugh, Ian Hargreaves, Will Cain (two), Harry Catlow, Andy Lean, Tom Collins and Harry Brereton.

Lean also notched a hat-trick of conversions and McHugh added one.

Mick Shipley scored the solitary Town try.

Vagabonds B were 53-23 winners at Ramsey B.

Mike Craine, Andy Cleator, Orry Watterson and Al Christian all notched tries for the battling northerners.
