Show your love with chocolate hearts for children’s charity

by isleofman.com 25th January 2013

The Children’s Centre is organising a ‘Chocolate for Charity’ event in partnership with award winning confectionery makers Davison’s.  Individuals, businesses, and other organisations can buy personalised chocolate hearts for Valentine’s Day with the proceeds going to help charitable projects run by The Children’s Centre. Orders for the hearts are being taken now so that they can be made and gift wrapped ready for Valentine’s Day.
Susie Cox, Community Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre, thanked Davison’s for their support and added:

“We’re selling chocolate hearts for ?5 each to be given as gifts to loved ones, work colleagues, business clients, or business partners. All of the hearts will be beautifully wrapped with ribbons and come with a gift tag. We can also decorate the hearts with a message or a company logo and deliver them on Valentine’s Day if required. If anyone wants to decorate their own hearts we can provide icing pens, ribbons, wrapping, and tags. It’s great idea for businesses and organisations who want a fun idea to banish those winter blues and provide funds for a worthy cause at the same time.”

Proceeds from the event will go towards The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects including the Child Contact Centre which provides a vital service to help parents who are divorced or separated. The Child Contact Centre creates a safe, secure, and neutral environment that allows a child to spend time with their non-resident parent. The service is offered free of charge to parents and children across the Island and relies upon charitable donations.

To place an order for chocolate hearts, and for further information, email Susie Cox at susiecox@thechildrenscentre.org.im or call 676076. Orders must be made by February 4 in order to guarantee delivery for Valentine’s Day. The ‘Chocolate for Charity’ event is the latest in a series of initiatives that Davison’s has supported to raise funds for The Children’s Centre. The company backed a similar Valentine’s Day themed event last year, and in 2011 sponsored an ice cream making competition to promote Children’s Week.
