New housing policy is fair says Chief Minister

by isleofman.com 26th January 2013

A new housing policy will NOT unfairly target local authority tenants.

That’s the stance of the Chief Minister after social care chiefs announced plans to introduce fixed term tenancies for public sector housing.

From April, properties will be allocated on fixed-term two year deal rather than being granted indefinitely.

Allan Bell says the scheme is aimed at helping needy families and is not a move to demonise commissioners’ tenants.
