Ramsey climb up table

by isleofman.com 26th January 2013

Ramsey beat Oswestry 26-0 at Mooragh Park in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two – a bonus point win which hauls them into eighth place in the standings and eases their relegation worries.

Tynan Pritchard and Matty Kelly both crossed in the first half with Andy Cleator converting both to give the northerners a 14-0 half-time lead.

In the second half, John F Watling and Ali Trace both added tries with Cleator converting one.

With close rivals Southport losing at home, Ramsey climbed a couple of places but will be wary as other teams do have games in hand.

Vagabonds lost 7-0 to struggling Wallasey at Ballafletcher in a game they felt they must surely win.

Wallasey took the lead on 20 minutes when skipper Keith Mahon crashed over following a tap penalty.

Paul Lewis converted from out wide and Wallasey were 7-0 up.

In the second half, Vagas were unable to use the strong wind to their advantage.

Luke Purdy and Mark McGreal both crossed the line for Vagas but were unable to ground the ball.
