Ailing high street means job losses at Duke

Fifteen jobs are to go at Duke Marketing, the first redundancies the Manx company has made in 30 years. 

Duke says it's been hard-hit by the loss of retail outlets in the UK high street and the move to digital downloads.

The redundancies were announced at Duke's Tromode operations centre on Friday and affect a range of jobs at the company, including marketing, calls and sales staff and van drivers.

Duke managing director Peter Duke says the business has been linked to the success of high street shopping:
