Bus station plan abandoned

Shoppers, business owners and residents have given an overwhelming thumbs down to plans to relocate Douglas bus station to Victoria Street.

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has confirmed it will not progress the interchange plan following a consultation exercise.

Minister Graham Cregeen says the proposal to relocate from the current site at Lord Street was realistically a non-starter, both commercially and aesthetically.
