Motorcyclist seriously hurt in accident

Police are looking for witnesses to a serious accident in south of the Island last night (Wed)

It happened around ten past six in the evening on the main Douglas to Ballasalla Road in the area of the Ballawoods Straight between the Blackboards and Ballasalla.

The collision involved a white Ford Transit van being driven by a man from Ballasalla and a white Triumph motorbike ridden by a man from Port St Mary who sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

The road was closed yesterday evening while police conducted enquiries at the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or have any information on the incident is asked to ring the Roads Policing Unit at Police Headquarters on 631 212.
