Football and Hockey to applaud Cowin

by isleofman.com 31st January 2013

There will be a minute of applause before all Football and Hockey fixtures this Saturday in memory of Isle of Man Special Olympian Gareth Cowin.

The 25 year-old sadly passed away while away with the Manx squad at the Winter Games in South Korea on Wednesday.

The International Organising Committee of the Special Olympics has announced that the event in the Far East will be re-named "Gareth's Games" in his memory.

Pulrose United have asked for their Woods Cup game away to Foxdale to be postponed as Gareth was involved with the club.
