by isleofman.com 2nd February 2013

After an incredibly tough and emotional week for the Island's Special Olympics athletes the team has picked up its first medal at Gareth's Games in South Korea.

Paul Clucas has won silver in the 100m snowshoeing, Division MO8.

The games have been renamed in honour of Paul's Isle of Man team mate Gareth Cowin, who died on Wednesday.

Gareth suffered complications after contracting a virus and died in hospital of refractory septic shock and organ failure.
