Archery Club Report - 3rd February 2013

The IoM Archery Club met on Sunday to shoot a Fita 18 as part of the Club Handicap League.

There was a good turnout in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Fortunes as usual were varied. Karen Lott, Mat Smith, Bradley Layton and Adam Wright all set new personal best scores for the round. Tony Hartley and Billy Lightfoot on the other hand struggled with their form.

A small group of compound archers elected to shoot a Double Fita, taking their scores of the morning over into the afternoon. Aalin George triumphed in this subsidiary competition, setting a new Club Record of 1132.

The Results of the Fita 18 after adjustment for handicap were as follows: -1. Colin Moore 1442 (60 553 9), 2. Bradley Layton 1441 (58 454 9)pb, =2. Dave Moore 1441 (60 555 21), 4. Mat Smith 1439 (57 492 12)pb, 5. Bod Boland 1438 (60 429 8), =5. Barbara Harris 1438 (60 519 14), 7. Kirsten George 1436 (60 554 19), 8. Sarah Rigby 1434 (60 562 23), 9. Aalin George 1433 (60 563 25), 10. Pete Mumford 1432 (60 555 17), 11. Karen Lott 1426 (57 465 8)pb, 12. Billy Lightfoot 1424 (60 527 6), 13. Rhys Moore 1415 (50 408 8), 14. Adam Wright 1412 (54 415 6)pb, 15. Tony Hartley 1400 (60 490 10).

Results of the Double Fita 18 : -1. Aalin George 120 1132 54 Club Record, 2.Pete Mumford 120 1115 40, 3. Sarah Rigby 119 1114 49, 4. Dave Moore 120 1108 40, 5. Kirsten George 120 1106 36.

Also shooting were Mark Rutherford 60 481 9 pb and Rachel Rutherford 57 465 8. Both shot a Portsmouth round.

This Sunday will see the Iom Archery Championships. Seniors will shoot in the morning and Juniors will shoot in the afternoon session. The usual times apply.
