Annual rate of inflation stayed the same in January

The annual rate of inflation as measured by the Retail Prices Index (RPI) was 2.5% in January, the same as December 2012.

Excluding housing costs, the annual rate of inflation shown by the RPI decreased to 1.8%, down from 2.0% in December.

The annual rate of inflation shown by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) saw the biggest change, decreasing to 1.1% from the 1.4% recorded in December.
