by isleofman.com 7th February 2013

The Children’s Centre is challenging pub quiz teams across the Island to take part in its ‘Big Fat Pub Quiz’ event to raise funds for its charitable projects across the Island. The event is being held at the Outback Bar and Nightclub in Barrack Street, Douglas, on Sunday 10th February at 7pm. Tickets are ?5 per person with a maximum of six people per team. A half-time buffet is included in the ticket price. There will be a picture round, music round, general knowledge, film and TV questions, and a round to test the contestants’ sports knowledge. Teams can also win raffle prizes and there will be other games during the evening. The quiz master is His Worship the Mayor of Douglas Councillor David Ashford JP. Tickets are available from The Children’s Centre, Woodbourne Road, Douglas, and the Outback. All funds raised go to The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects including Out2Play, Philip Christian Centre in Peel, and Mobex. The Big Fat Pub Quiz is the latest quiz themed fundraiser organised by the Island’s leading charity for families and children. Michelle O’Malley, Fundraising Manager at The Children’s Centre, said:

“Everyone loves a good quiz and these type of events always prove to be popular so I would urge teams to sign up as soon as possible to be sure of booking a place. We held a Question of Sport themed event in October which was a fantastic success and raised ?4,000 for our charitable projects. It was a great night, and the Big Fat Pub Quiz will be a fun evening too, and all in a good cause.”
