Hugh praises Island's fishery conservation

The Isle of Man won praise last night as TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall took a look at our seabed.

Along with Marine Biologist Professor Calum Roberts, he went diving off Port Erin Bay to look at a Marine Protected Area, comparing it to areas which have been dredged for scallops.

The Channel 4 presenter is battling to preserve more areas of the UK’s coastline, and used the Isle of Man as an example of how our strategy of closing areas to fishermen has worked.

He was impressed with what he saw:
