Lalor-Smith family does the Peel Dip for Hospice

by isleofman.com 15th February 2013

Sara Lalor-Smith from Foxdale decided in December 2012 that the family, Dad - Julian, twins Terence and Courtney aged 11 and Mark aged 9 should do the Peel dip on New Year's Day and raise some money for Hospice Isle of Man.

Sadly, much loved brother-in-law and uncle Dr Charles Murray had died of cancer in September 2012 in Hospice and as Charles was also one of the founding members of this fantastic facility, Sara thought it would be a fitting tribute to Charles if the family dipped in the sea on New Year’s Day and at the same time raised money to support Hospice.

The Lalor-Smiths asked family, friends, work colleagues at the Department of Home Affairs along with friends and teachers from Foxdale and QEII School to make donations. The family were delighted to raise ?530 in total and thanked everyone for their generosity.

Fittingly the family are pictured waiting for the dip in tropical beachwear!
