Strike action 'surprising'

Department of Community, Culture and Leisure officials were surprised to receive notification of the latest bus drivers' strike, says the department's chief executive.

The ten-minute strike at 4.37am on Saturday has been called to keep their industrial action rolling without having to ballot drivers again.

Nick Black says the department had instead been expecting to hear whether or not there would be a vote on a new set of proposals the DCCL had put forward:
