“Rotary Swimarathon” Goes Worldwide! - be part of the world's biggest swim!

On 23rd February 2013 Ramsey Rotary Club will be joining Rotary Clubs around the world in a 24 hours Global Swimarathon.

Rotary Swimarathon aims to get as many Rotary Clubs or organisations to hold a mini “RotarySwimarathon” on 23rd February and to raise awareness and funds for Rotary’s project to towards the eradication of Polio.  The event will see someone around the world swimming to eradicate polio every second throughout the 24 hours of the day: 238 Rotary Clubs representing 132 Rotary Districts in all 6 continents are taking part, with an estimated 15,000 global participants.

Ramsey Rotary Club is aiming to get as many people as possible to swim a minimum of 100 metres [4 lengths of the pool] between 12 noon and 1pm at the Northern Swimming Pool in Ramsey. 

Participants will be asked to make a nominal minimum donation of ?2 [?1 for under 16’s] and, if they can, to raise sponsorship to support the End Polio Now campaign.

Registration forms can be obtained at Ramsey Town Hall, on the Ramsey Rotary Club Website www.ramseyrotary.im, the Ramsey Commissioners Website www.ramsey.gov.im or by email to info@ramseyrotary.im.
