Update on Hospital Norovirus Outbreak

by isleofman.com 21st February 2013

Two wards in Noble’s Hospital (Ward 9 and Ward 20), and one which is a mental health care facility (Grianagh Court), were closed at the end of last week due to an outbreak of norovirus gastroenteritis.

Grianagh Court has been completely re-opened yesterday evening (20th February); Ward 20 will re-open later today, and Ward 9 by tomorrow evening, assuming there are no patients newly-diagnosed with norovirus.

The Department of Health would like to thank all visitors and patients for co-operating with the ward staff in implementing procedures to reduce the spread of the virus.  The Department would also like to express its gratitude to all staff in these wards who have had to work extra hard to control the spread of the virus.
