Students disappointed with fees - but pround of their actions

Students protesting against the introduction of a government loan scheme to have them pay part of their tuition fees say they’re disappointed to have lost the battle.

Despite their vocal protests outside Tynwald over the past three days, last night the court voted 22 to 10 to back the plans.

Sam Turton is one of those who led the campaign against the Department of Education and Children.

After the vote, he admitted he was disappointed – but proud of his fellow students:
