A student at St Ninian’s High School is to hold an exhibition of his photographs at the Tynwald Library.
14-year-old Adam Peet will exhibit around 20 of his photographs of wildlife, mostly birds, from Monday March 4th to Friday April 5th 2013. The exhibition will not only provide an opportunity for the work of this talented young photographer to be viewed by members of the public including celebrated wildlife artist Dr Jeremy Paul but also by visiting parliamentarians from the UK , the Turks and Caicos Islands and Tristan da Cunha.
Adam said observing and photographing wildlife was a hobby that required extreme patience. His patience has clearly been rewarded as some of his photographs have featured in UK bird-watching magazines. He explained: ‘Most weekends I’m out taking photos. I started when I was eight and wildlife has always been my favourite subject, birds especially, though this exhibition includes a bee and a few other insects.’
The family cat, Ronnie, has also been before Adam’s camera lens, although she will not feature in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Located on the ground floor of the Legislative Buildings in Finch Road the Tynwald Library exhibition space provides schools, youth, community and sporting organisations as well as private individuals and commercial enterprises with a secure, easily managed area in which to mount Manx-themed displays. There is no rental charge, only a small commission fee for sales by commercial operators.
