Employees from Barclays Wealth & Investment Management in the Isle of Man have helped raise over ?37,000 in 2012 for their Charity of the Year, Crossroads Care.

Each year the team at Barclays in the Isle of Man selects a local charity to benefit from its annual fundraising efforts. Crossroads was established in the Isle of Man in 1988 - the aim of the charity is to help improve the lives of carers and to offer practical support and advice to carers, their families and people with care needs. Each year, Crossroads provides over 50,000 hours of respite support so that carers can have a few valuable hours to themselves to relax and do all of the things most people take for granted.

In 2012 many different events and initiatives were held including; golf days, a visit from the Easter Bunny delivering eggs, participation in the Parish Walk, dress down days, bake sales and much more. Barclays has also supported events organized by Crossroads including the very popular Fashion Face-Off.

Chair of the Barclays Isle of Man Charity Committee Stuart Nelson said: ‘I am delighted to be able to present a cheque for ?37,000 to Crossroads Care Isle of Man. Every year it is fantastic to see our staff getting involved with our fundraising activities and raising so much money for our chosen charities. I know that the funds we have raised will help Crossroads with the important work they undertake in our community.’

Alex Wilson, Fundraising Manager for Crossroads said: ‘It has been a real pleasure to work with the team from Barclays Wealth & Investment Management in the Isle of Man over the last 12 months. Everyone is so enthusiastic and motivated in their fundraising, it is infectious and really shows in the level of funds they have managed to raise throughout the year. Anyone can become a carer at any time and because of the support of organisations such as Barclays, we will always be there to help offer support and guidance to those in need.’
