Belgian cycle race scuppered by snow

by isleofman.com 24th February 2013

Snowfall has led to the cancellation of today's Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne cycling road race.

The event in Belgium was expected to be a sprint showdown between Manx Missile Mark Cavendish and his arch rival Andre Greipel.

Both are in good form, with Cav enjoying his most successful start to a season since turning professional in 2007.

Greipel has so far notched up four victories.

Cav's tweeted it's disappointing, but the right decision if it minimises the risk of injury or sickness.
