Junior Basketball League Results and Report

by isleofman.com 25th February 2013

In an exciting game played between West and South, it was the West Oranges who  ran their legs off  but they could not stop South piling up a staggering 25 points. West tried hard but only got 10 of their own but with Coach Graham Basset handing out debuts to a number of his team, the future is certainly bright for the West. Good luck to both teams in the future! The second game was a very interesting clash as East took on West. This time both teams were evenly matched and  by half time the score was 6-4 to east. After half time, East really got in there and managed to boost up some more points and at  the end of that game the score was 18 - 6 to the West  they moved on to face the strong South team in the battle of the unbeaten record. East vs. South started off about even and at half time the scores were tied but after half time East went  downhill. They tried so hard but it was too late and as the buzzer went for the end of the game, the East sighed with disappointment as the score was  22-16 to the South. So this week we had South winning both games  and they played. East winning one and lost one and sadly that means West won no games but they have some promising players and will look to improve on that next time.  Star players for East were AJ Go and Josh Ward because AJ tried really hard on defence and scored a lot of baskets and Josh because this was his first Junior League and he showed no fear.  Star players from South were Sean Ahern and Finn McGregor for their great defence and shots while the West stars were Toby and every single player that made their debut, too many to name.
