A League
Davrost (3) v easyGym (9)
Danni's Driving School (12) v Motorvation (2)
Danni’s Driving School back on the right road. Danni’s Driving School lying second place in the A league, welcomed Motorvation to Mount Murray and hoped to get back on the right track with a victory. With their numbers one and two Kevin (Flash) Watterson and Douglas Jacobsson beating their opponents Mike Hayler and Chris Moore both 3 – 0 they were well on their way. The only points scored for Motorvation on the night were from Hamish Thornton, but it was Danni’s Driving School’s Rob Boyles who still managed to pip Thornton 3 – 2 to gain full points.
B League
Bespoke Recruitment (8) v International Divers (16)
Bespoke Recruitment were missing their number 1 player against the league leaders on Thursday night and this sadly put the rest of the team under considerable pressure. Ian Shirley played at 1 and although able to demonstrate a good range of shots, was taken apart by Gary who ran out a comfortable 3-0 winner. Mark Hotchkiss and Chris Moore had a great game at 2. Both players have a similar game, and this resulted in an enjoyable and hard running game which Chris ended up taking 3-1. Dr Mark Harrop took on Adam Jones at 3. This also proved to be a tough game however Dr Mark stuck to his guns and managed to pull out a 3-2 win. Big Jon Morley was feeling under the weather at 4, however still managed to hit the ball as hard as ever, eventually running out of gas against James who ran out a 3-1 winner. Mean Dean Sowerby was bringing up the rear and playing some excellent squash against Simon. Dean simply had too much for Simon to deal with and ran out a comfortable 3-0 winner. The Bespoke Recruitment team would like to thank the International Divers for another fun night.
Island Exhaust Systems (17) v Outcasts (5)
A good competitive fixture where, at the lower end of the order, Island Exhaust had a bit too much in the tank of experience for their opponents. At no. 5 Les Callow started strongly against Phil Whittam only to see Whittam hit back by taking the third game. Callow seemed to make him pay for this though in the fourth and final game. Aleyn Taggart had some difficulty reading Ian Sheard’s game, who didn't give his opponent much to work with. It was the same story at no. 3 where Peter Sharples kept ahead throughout against Stuart Highy. It got far more competitive at the top end of the order though. Mark Henson had Dave Griffiths reeling in the first with his strong hitting. Griffiths managed to recover and pick up his game to take the next three with a scare in the third game. At no. 1, after losing the first game from a strong advantage, Pat Russell could not make any inroads into Peter Ginty’s game. A good match throughout.
