Ramsey Men's Darts League

by isleofman.com 28th February 2013

The penultimate week of the Ramsey Men's darts league saw some more one sided match ups with two of the games being won by the margin of 7-2 and the other an 8-1 victory.

The first game saw the RAOB playing their last game as the buffs and it didn't end on a good note as they were hammered by the Plough B team with the usual big guns of Mac MacDonald and Jamie Kelly hitting fine form with 8 ton scores and a 180 between them. Just down the quay at the Joughins hotel the Mitre derby wasn't to be a close game either with the Mitre Raven running out 7-2 victors Lon Chambers being the outstanding performer of any venue this week with figures of 4x100 105 121 125 128 finish and a 140 awesome darts in any standard of darts, Phil Teare also showing the form we have been missing for a few years now with 6x100 and a 140 and Charlie Cormode hitting a fine 6x100.

The last match of the night saw the Plough A playing their last game of this season inflicting a heavy 7-2 defeat on the Bar Logo the only real highes for the Logo were Paul Arthur winning the battle of the big guns against Geoff Howland and winning his pairs match with the ever improving Gav Dunnigan who himself hit a 180 this week. Notables for the Plough were Andy Hudgeon hitting 4x100 and a 140, Alan Kinrade with scores of 4x100 and 2x140, Geoff Howland 5x100 and a 180. So with the title already sealed by the Stanley the only things left up for grabs are the titles of most tons currently being led by Geoff Howland with 62 ton plus scores but with his season now over Paul Arthur ( 55 tons )and Jamie Kelly (52 tons) are left to battle it out and the honour of most wins is also wide open with Paul Arthur leading the way with 21 wins from 23 games( 12 out 12 singles victories) followed by Charlie Cover 20 wins from 22 ( 11 out of 11 pairs wins )and Dave Madden 19 wins from 20 games( 10 wins out 10 pairs ).

The final thing to be decided is can anyone knock Richie Howland of the top of the highest finish league? With his 161 finish it is looking not likely but with the way this season has gone i've learnt to never count your chickens.
