Geordies inflict record defeat on Town

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2013

St George’s heaped embarrassment on an under strength Castletown in the quarter-finals of the Paddy Power FA Cup.

A four goal haul from Callum Morrissey and hat-tricks from his strike partner Ciaran McNulty and Sam Caine led the rout.

Skipper Sean Quaye and Frank Jones each chipped in with a brace and there were also goals from Chris Bass and James McStay.

That win at the Stadium – a record home defeat for Castletown - booked the holders a semi-final tie at Peel after they defeated Ramsey 6-2.

Lee Gale was the star of the show with four.

Marc Kelly and Andy Quirk netted the others.

Michael Fernandez hit both for battling Ramsey.

An exciting eight goal contest at Groves Road saw Pulrose defeat Douglas Royal 5-3 to reach the semi-finals of the GH Corlett Woods Cup.

Two from Barry English and one from Craig Cowin helped them on their way.

Nick Ford and Whitley (two) netted for Royal.
