Striking drivers attempt to clock on

by isleofman.com 6th March 2013

Striking bus drivers attempted to go back to work this morning - but were turned away by DCCL representatives

Drivers finished the first part of a two pronged industrial action at 9.30 this morning. A further two hour stoppage is planned from 3pm.

A contingency service with buses running to a Sunday schedule through the day has been put in place by the Department, who had made it clear that those taking part in the strike would be unable to go back to work as usual later in the day.

However, after finishing their action this morning 20 drivers attempted to clock in for work as normal.

David Harrison was there for Manx Radio and says the drivers were surprised when they were actually let through the gates
