At the end of February unemployment stood at 1181, an unemployment rate of 2.6%.
During the month 234 signed on and 229 signed off, giving a rise of 5 in the total registered
unemployed. Of the total unemployed 849 are males and 332 are females.
A total of 550 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month and at the end of the
month 357 positions were still vacant and held on file.
