Balla team triumph at Charity Challenge

The honours for this year's Charity Challenge have gone to a team from Ballakermeen High School.

They were crowned winners at the finals at the Manx Museum last night, where 28 students from the Island's high schools and Isle of Man College outlined the work of a chosen charity to a panel of judges.

Youngsters from Ballakermeen won the night with their presentaiton on the Koru Hospital Fund, a Kenyan charity working to provide access to healthcare.

The prize: a cheque for ?2,500 for the cause from H&S Davidson Trust and the Isle of Man International Development Committee.

Team members Kai Kirkham and Rachel Quayle said the project helped them to form strong ties with the locals running the Koru project:
