The IoM Archery Club met at the weekend to shoot a Fita 3 Spot as part of the Handicap League. It was the usual mix of agony and ecstasy. Five archers recorded personal best scores but Bradley Layton was unfortunate enough to suffer a catastrophic equipment failure which prevented him from finishing the round. Barbara Harris probably wished she had an equipment failure to blame for her dismal performance.
Shooting the Fita 3 Spot for the first time Charlotte Harris put in a personal best score to take first place. Her father Ian added 42 points to his personal best to take second place, whilst Adam Wright added 39 to his personal best to take third place. Karen Lott added 26 points to her pb to break 500 for the first time which meant when adjusted for handicap she came in fourth ahead of husband Rob who was shooting the round for the first time.
Tony Hartley decided to give his Mongol bow an airing and added 47 to his personal best for the Portsmouth round using that particular bow type.
