Emerging Nomads hang on in Bowl

by isleofman.com 16th March 2013

It was a must win game for Nomads in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl and win they did - beating near neighbours Castletown 19-15 at Poulsom Park.

Mike Condra’s try got Town in front early on.

Nomads countered through a Chris Bradshaw, which was converted by Duncan Miller, before Town had the final say of the first half when Gary Stephenson powered over for a try which he converted to leave it 12-7 at the break.

A Conor Stephens try, converted by Miller, put Nomads in front 14-12 only for Town to snatch it back with a Stephenson penalty.

However, Nomads took the game when Sam Holt dived in for the match-winning try with five minutes left to play.
