Ramsey lifeboat in action again

by isleofman.com 17th March 2013

Ramsey lifeboat was launched yesterday morning (Sat) to go to the assistance of a broken down yacht.

The vessel was three miles south east of Maughold Head when trouble struck at around 8am.

The thirty foot fin keel yacht with a crew of two was en-route from Whitehaven to Douglas when it suffered engine failure.

She was secured by the crew of the Mersey class RNLB Ann and James Ritchie and towed to Dougas harbour.

The Lifeboat then returned to Ramsey and was back on station by midday.

It's been a busy few days for the northern lifeboat. On Thursday she was called out to rescue a fishing vessel whose steering gear had failed.
